Life seems to travel fast when you chase the seasons and we can’t quite believe budburst for the 2022 has come and gone already.
The vines wake after winter (that means September / October here) and the moment the buds burst marks the start of the critical growing season – aiming for strong, healthy buds, but not too many per vine as that could result in reduced concentration. We also don’t want it to happen too early, or to have unseasonally cold weather during this period. Fingers crossed Mother Nature plays ball and of course we’ve got our wind machines (for frost protection) to help combat. The next stage is shoot growth, then flowering which form berries, which ripen ready to harvest…only 150 days to go!
