Introducing the talent behind the wines

The People

Jason, Melissa, Geoff | VITICULTURAL MANAGEMENT

What these three don’t know about growing grapes in Marlborough isn’t worth knowing. They’ve a combined industry experience of 90+ years.  And when you consider commercial plantings only kicked off in Marlborough in 1973, that’s a pretty impressive run at it.  Tenure in the wine industry is an incredibly valuable asset.  Because, of course, you only get one chance every year to perfect or adapt.

Eveline | WINEMAKER

Winemaker extraordinaire, incredibly passionate and amazing attention to detail.  Also beautifully tenured: so far, 22 vintages in Marlborough, including six as Head Winemaker at the famed Cloudy Bay and thirteen – so far – with Little Beauty.

Rest assured folks, when it comes to growing grapes and making wine; we’re in safe hands.

"It's not possible to make good wine
out of poor quality grapes."

Geoff | VITICULTURALIST

Harvesting Techniques

For Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling machine harvesting is preferred. For Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris and Gewurztraminer, typically everything is done by hand.

"To me, a great wine reflects the site the fruit it comes from. Each wine has to have its own sense of style and individuality."
