I’m a bespoke, independent range of wines from the unique and elemental Waihopai Valley, Marlborough, New Zealand.
In the world of wine, I’m quite new – as you would expect from us Antipodeans. My first vintage was only 2008. A ‘breath of fresh air’ one might say!
Importantly, I’m only ever going to be available as a limited release. In fact, I’m so limited, my annual production represents a teensy 0.00055% of the total global wine market. A drop in the ocean! So, with me, you know you’re getting something super special. And very authentic.
With Little Beauty, it is, and should be,
a truly personable and friendly experience.
My Ideologies
My Name
You may ask “Why Little Beauty?” Well, a few reasons;
- 1.With us, individuality is where it’s at – so we needed a name to match. This sense of individuality is also reflected in everything we do – in the vineyard and the cellar – making for distinctive wines with heaps of personality.
- 2.In New Zealand, the term ‘little beauty’ is a phrase often used as a term of endearment, or when one feels excited about something. It’s friendly and endearing. Positive connotation all the way!
- 3.You’ve probably seen Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings …and yup…that’s exactly what it looks like in New Zealand (minus the Hobbits and Orks). New Zealand is little geographically – with incredibly beautiful scenery.
So, the name says it all. It’s what and who we are; we’re a little wine company, and our aim is to make beautiful wines.
“I’m proudly Kiwi and I’m a Little Beauty”.
My Design
And what about the design? Well, our extraordinarily creative Kiwi mates Chris and Clayton did us proud. To further explain;
New Zealand is about as far away as you can get, way down in the South Pacific.If you look at a world map, we’re tucked away in the bottom right hand corner.
One of the redeeming features as to why New Zealand wines are so unique is the fact we are surrounded by Ocean. This maritime climate creates distinctive weather conditions ideal for (cool-climate) vine physiology and berry development.
With authenticity one of our ideologies, even the chosen font is designed by an award-winning Kiwi font designer.
We’re a New World winemaking region so the label needed to be simple. And we’re targeting a certain segment of the market, so the label needed to suit the environment it would sit.
