Pruning 2025 Done & Dusted

At home

A milestone task in the annual cycle ticked off.  Pruning done.

As the last cane is stripped, we hear a sigh of relief echo through the vineyard to know pruning is complete for another year.  It’s a huge effort – first cutting canes, then stripping, then tying down and – finally – mulching.  Each vine seeing the friendly face of the vineyard team four times before the job is complete.  Cutting and tying down is a task that must be done by hand.  Not easy either when start times coincide with the wintery minus degrees in the vineyard!

Massive thanks to the ‘Vinepower’ pruning team from for their perseverance in getting the job done.
