Experimental Wine in Progress!

At home

Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir…..what could be next?

During the 2025 vintage we had the opportunity to harvest a small parcel of fruit from a highly esteemed vineyard.  It’s a variety we’ve not worked with before but have been enthusiastically considering it.  So we took the chance!  Just a few barrels are now in the winery and Eveline is putting it through its paces ‘as we speak’.

On the tasting table here are samples from each individual barrel.  But not every barrel is the same.  Nor does each barrel behave uniformly in the winery.  Fascinating to see the variation.

We’re not totally sure of its future yet so we won’t reveal for now.  There’s a few more months of nurturing yet…

Watch this space!
