Yup, being ‘new world’ wine growing region we adopt modern techniques where possible. This is also vital in response to our ongoing labour issues in New Zealand. We simply do not have have resource. As such the cost of labour to our industry is very high. This is one of the reasons why New Zealand wines cost more. So, if we can mechanise throughout the process, we will. And one of the parts of the process where this is possible is bottling. Apart from quality control tasks, almost all of the bottling line is automated.
